Nazanin Noori wins ars viva prize 2026

Huge congratulations to Berlin artist Nazanin Noori for receiving the ars viva prize 2026. Noori's first solo exhibition THE ECHO OF PROTEST IS DISTANT TO THE PROTEST was on view at CCA Berlin @ Kranzler X, from 12 Sep – 19 Oct 2024.

Nazanin Noori (*1991 in Wiesbaden) is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on sound, composition, performance, installation, direction and text. In her work, Noori explores the fusion of sound, space, sculpture and post-dramatic poetry, focusing on atmospheric narratives. Her hypnoacoustic compositions are primarily within the field of ambient hardcore, but also doom electronics. Her works have been shown at Transmediale, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, EIGEN + ART Lab, CCA Berlin, Akademie der Künste and the CTM Festival, among others. In April 2025, her solo exhibition “THE ECHO OF PROTEST IS DISTANT TO THE PROTEST” opens at Auto Italia, London, as a continuation and collaboration with CCA Berlin.

Since 1953 the Cultural Group of the German Economy awards young artists with the famous ars viva prize of Visual Arts, whose works are characterized by trend-setting potential and high artistic quality. Connected to the prize of 5.000 Euro and a series of exhibitions at changing renowned institutions for contemporary art in Germany and abroad where selected works of the prize winners are shown. Since 2016 all prize winners can participate at an artist residency in Canada due to the Fogo Island Arts residency program. Additionally a bilingual catalogue is published.

In 2025, the ars viva prize goes to Nazanin Noori (*1991), Ryan Cullen (*1992) und Prateek Vijan (*1991).

The total prize money amounts to 120,000 euros and includes two exhibitions – at Marta Herford and Kunstverein Braunschweig - an artist residency at Fogo Island Arts (Canada), prize money and the publication of a bilingual catalogue.
